Extreme Sports Connect with Adrenaline Charged Film Festival

Nissan Outdoor Games is, without doubt, the top competition of its kind (prize money USD 50'000), bringing outdoor sports to the big screen. For 5 days (from 30 June to 4 July), the best kayakers, mountain-bikers, climbers, paragliders and base jumpers will partner up with sound and video experts produce a 5-minute film in the great outdoors. The public is also invited to join in and try out these sporting disciplines, right in the heart of Interlaken.

Extreme sports challenges have been taking place in Interlaken for the past four years and this innovative film competition has found its niche in the Bernese resort in the foothills of the Eiger, the Mönsch and the Jungfrau. Charged-up athletes and cinematographers will be on top form to liven up this normally quiet resort.

5 teams, 5 sports and 5 days to make a 5-minute film: a competition like no other….
At a time when extreme sports are fashionable in every way and when being outdoors is where everyone wants to be, the event organisers realised that an original and innovative event was needed. Over five days, renowned kayakers, mountain-bikers, climbers, paragliders and base jumpers will perform for their cameramen in the most spectacular places. Under the close watch of the residents, masses of young sportsmen will invade rivers, forests, mountains, glaciers and even the sky, with the aim of creating a film. These modern games combine sporting achievement with the aesthetic and creative qualities of outdoor sports films.

Once the filming and editing is complete, the film entries will judged by a jury comprising professional sportsmen and audiovisual specialists, and will then be projected to a crowd of Outdoor Games enthusiasts on huge wide screens in the centre of Interlaken, on Saturday evening. Terraces, bars and restaurants will join in the festivities for some unforgettable and great summer evenings

A sports festival invites the general public to participate!
The Nissan Outdoor Games will be setting up camp in the heart of Interlaken town centre, where people will have the chance to actively participate in sports; the 4th & 5th July are eagerly awaited.

Under the watchful eye of experts, anyone can come and try their hand at the climbing wall in the Stadthaus Platz & a mountain-bike track will be set up for the reckless to practice their jumps and tricks. Come and take your first steps in the world of Outdoor Sports, check out the joys of kayaking and Eskimo rolls on the canal.
