Emberlight International Film Festival Call For Submissions

[Ironwood, Michigan] Emberlight International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2021 season. Film is one component of the Emberlight Festival, an annual celebration that produces world-class art within the natural beauty of Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula. 

All events will be outdoors to ensure Emberlight can remain totally COVID-compliant and adapt to guidelines set by the CDC at the time of our festival.  The film festival’s screenings will be hosted at the Historic Depot Park and Pavilion in Ironwood, Michigan.  

Emberlight’s 2021 awards will include cash prizes, certificates and laurels for a wide variety of categories and honors, including Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, The Young Michigan Filmmaker Award, Best Micro Film, Best Foreign Short, Best Animated Short, Best LGBTQ+ Short, The Female Filmmaker Award, The Indigenous Filmmaker Award, and more.

Winners will be announced at a dedicated award ceremony on September 5 at the bucolic Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort.  

In addition to the film festival, the 2021 Emberlight season will include two weekends of concerts headlined by stars from Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera, four art exhibits including an outdoor show in a 167-acre park, free community events, and exclusive mentorship opportunities for a selective group of young people.
