EFP new board of directors appointed in Cannes

Election during the Cannes International Film Festival
EFP’s new board of directors
Today the members of European Film Promotion (EFP) have elected a new Board of Directors at its General Assembly meeting during the Cannes International Film Festival. The Board is composed of six members and the term of office lasts for two years.
EFP is pleased to announce the election of:
Claudia Landsberger (Holland Film, Managing Director)
Christian Dorsch (German Films, Managing Director)
Stine Oppegaard (Norwegian Film Institute, Head of International Relations, Feature Film)
Éva Vezér (Magyar Filmunió, Hungary, General Manager)
Pilar Torre (ICAA, Spain, Subdirector General Promotion)
Francine Brücher (Swiss Films, International Promotion)
Claudia Landsberger: “I am very pleased to stay President of this unique network and to continue our efforts to strengthen the visibility of European cinema worldwide. Since our conception in 1997, Europe has changed a lot and the same goes for EFP. It really is a challenge to work with 25 countries
– from the South of Europe and the very North, from the West and increasingly from the East. That’s Europe, that’s European cinema today.“
New to the EFP Board is Francine Brücher from Swiss Films: “I’m very much looking forward to being more in charge of European Cinema and helping to promote it worldwide. I think it’s exciting and useful at the same time to spotlight the diversity of Europe’s film industry and the uniqueness of its
talent.”
Since the foundation of European Film Promotion in 1997, the number of members has increased from ten to 24 export and promotion organisations from 25 countries. In the past years, it has mainly been film organisations from Eastern Europe which joined EFP. Most recently, the National Film
Center (NFC) Bulgaria became a new member in April 2005.
