EFP announces its new board of directors during Cannes

The members of European Film Promotion (EFP) today elected a new Board of Directors at its General Assembly during the Cannes International Film Festival. The Board is composed of six members and the term of office lasts for two years.

The members now are:
Claudia Landsberger (Holland Film, Managing Director) Christian Dorsch (German Films, Managing Director) Pilar Torre (ICAA, Spain, Deputy Director General Promotion) Francine Brücher (Swiss Films, International Promotion) Éva Vezér (Magyar Filmunió, Hungary, General Manager).
Simon Perry (CEO, Irish Film Board)

Claudia Landsberger was again elected President of EFP, Christian Dorsch remains Vice President of EFP.

Since the launch of European Film Promotion ten years ago, Claudia Landsberger has worked on the development of various EFP projects to highlight the richness and the diversity of Europe’s film industry and the uniqueness of its talent around the globe. “The first 10 years seem to have gone by like a blink of the eye”, she says. “Yet, we have established a truly pan-European organisation with projects that really make a difference for European filmmakers and actors. I look forward to continuing this work with the other members of the board and our managing director Renate Rose and her superb team in our Hamburg headquarters.“

New to the EFP Board is Simon Perry, CEO at the Irish Film Board: “I believe that EFP has achieved an enormous amount in 10 years but, just as we are in the process of refreshing the whole concept of the SHOOTING STARS event, I believe it is also essential to be constantly looking for new approaches and new programmes that can keep the work of promotion alive and relevant.”

Since the foundation of European Film Promotion in 1997, the number of members has increased from ten to 27 export and promotion organisations from 28 countries. In recent years, it has mainly been film organisations from Eastern Europe which have been those joining EFP. EFP is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
