Createasphere’s Entertainment Technology Exposition

Createasphere’s Entertainment Technology Exposition, the entertainment and media industry’s showcase for previewing and learning about the latest trends and ground-breaking technologies, will take place November 3rd & 4th, 2010 at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center in Burbank, California. Running in conjunction with the Expo, Gear Alley will put the latest camera, lighting and production tools in the hands of attendees while providing education and networking opportunities. Gear Alley will be set outside, against the backdrop of the Convention Center.

Product premiers and demonstrations will be unveiled during the Expo, including Panasonic’s AG-AF100, Sony’s 35mm Digital Motion Picture Camera and more. Gear Alley and the Expo will offer a plethora of hands-on opportunities for attendees. AJA Video Systems sponsors an evening cocktail reception on November 3rd, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in Gear Alley.

On November 3rd, The Society of Camera Operators sponsors “How Did You Get That SHOT???”; a lively discussion and scene deconstruction featuring top camera operators and cinematographers who have created some of the most amazing shots from feature films and television programs. The panel is moderated by David Frederick, SOC, President Emeritus of the SOC (“Driving Miss Daisy,” “Sons of Anarchy”). Panelists include Dan Pearl, ASC (“Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Friday the 13th”), Jack Messitt, SOC (“Irreversi,” “Bones”), Mitch Dubin,

SOC (“Saving Private Ryan,” “Minority Report,” “War of The Worlds”), Chris Tufty, SOC (“The Spirit of Yosemite,” “The Closer”), Dan Kneece, SOC (“ The Patriot,” “Jackie Brown,”), Paul Babin, SOC (“Valkyrie,” “Terminator,” “Indiana Jones”), Robert Reed Altman, SOC (“Prairie Home Companion,” “Cloverfield”) and Steven Poster, ASC, President of Local 600 (“Donnie Darko,” “Blade Runner”).

Kristin Petrovich, President of Createasphere noted, “We conceived of Gear Alley as a place where our audience, specifically those in production, found a source of invaluable information and connection. With Dave Frederick moderating this amazing SOC panel, our industry-leading exhibitors and demonstrations lining up, camera-centric intensives and a sold out Exposition show floor, I am confident that there is a lot to keep attendees engaged!”

In addition to Gear Alley, November 3rd & 4th features a number of top-notch panels and intensives. A dynamic AFI Panel, “The Cinematography Program at AFI: Focus on Excellence,” will present some of the most respected cinematographers working in the industry. Additionally, a full compliment of educational intensives (free to attendees with prior signup) including 3D from Sony, 3D from Panasonic, Adobe, AJA, and more, are presented to offer Expo attendees in-depth, hands-on information. A DSLR MeetUp has also been announced for November 3rd. Surrounding Createasphere’s Entertainment Technology Exposition, there will be professional education offerings including the LA debut of the artemis camera stabilizer Workshop, October 30th – November 1st, the Panasonic 3D Production Workshop and the launch of the highly anticipated Post Production Master Class, slated for November 5th & 6th.
