Copenhagen Docu fest cph:dox has just wrapped

3rd COPENHAGEN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL

In only 3 years the festival has become on of the biggest doc events in Europe.

The festival has enjoyed a lot of positive response and attention from our large local audience as well as from international producers and distributors, the national and international press and the many international guests visiting cph:dox 2005. cph:dox strongly believe in the many opportunities this new platform has created for a future and possibly even stronger documentary environment in Denmark.

CPH:DOX ELABORATED
Innovation is high on the festivals agenda and thus new initiatives has either been taken or elaborated:

> Artkino
Aiming to bridge the gap between the art world and the documentary world the cph:dox artkino has been established 2005. This year the cph:dox artkino had a world premiere on the new film of Anri Sala and Olafur Eliasson. The cph:dox artkino will through out the coming and future years have occasionally screenings seeking to establish a platform presenting a more artistic development of the documentary film.

> Unorthodox
Unorthodox is the title of an experimental section of the cph:dox programme 2005. This section is seeking to explore and push the limits of the documentary's opportunity for manifestation combining the classical documentary with a live dimension. The idea of elaborating and experimenting with the traditional presentation of the documentary film is and will be a future goal for the festival. By adding live elements such as music and art performances to the documentary film cph:dox will try to open up the documentary space and promote the idea of bringing the documentary film back into reality.

> Professional seminars
The professional seminars have been further elaborated since first introduced in 2004. Among seminar speakers at cph:dox 2005 were: Michael Glawogger, Noreena Hertz, Sean McAllister, Sabina Guzzanti, Margreth Olin and Peter Wintonick.

CPH:DOX PROFILE AND VISION - AIMING TO
> present new and innovative documentary films
> integrate various artistic means of expression encompassing art film, music, media art and live performance
> prolong the life of the docu film by focusing on the world outside the cinema through debates seminars and other activities
> stimulate intelligence, political awareness, curiosity and tolerance
