CINEMA ITALIAN STYLE: NEW FILMS FROM ITALY
October 3 - 9, 2006

Presented with the financial support of the Italian Ministry for Culture - General Direction for Cinema, the Lazio Region and the Italian Film Commission, in collaboration with: The Italian Consul General and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, FilmItalia. Special thanks to BVLGARI and MISSONI.

Following on the success of the first two years, Cinema Italian Style brings to Los Angeles the best of contemporary Italian cinema. The festival, under the auspices of the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is supported by an honorary committee which includes: Bernardo Bertolucci, Jo Champa, Dino and Martha De Laurentiis, Danny DeVito, Michael Douglas, Jim Gianopulos, Anjelica Huston, Sherry Lansing, Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti, Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, Rick Nicita, Pietro Scalia, Dante Spinotti and Harvey Weinstein.

This year’s program includes the two Italian movies in competition at the 2006 Venice Film Festival: Nuovomondo (The Golden Door) by Emanuele Crialese and La Stella Che Non C'e (The Missing Star) by Gianni Amelio; other titles include: La Guerra di Mario (Mario's War) by Antonio Capuano; Anche Libero Va Bene by Kim Rossi Stuart; Notte Prima Degli Esami by Fausto Brizzi; Quijote by Mimmo Paladino; La Febbre by Alessandro D’Alatri and the documentary Viva Zapatero by Sabina Guzzanti. Il Caimano (The Caiman) by Nanni Moretti, L’Amico di Famiglia (Family Friend) By Paolo Sorrentino, both in competition at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, My Father by Egidio Eronico and Italian Dream by Sandro Baldoni.
