Central Park Fest kicks in

The Central Park Conservancy is hosting its 2nd annual Central Park Film Festival presented by Bloomberg.

The festival includes a theme night, Tootsie - dress in drag for a prize! A family night - (last year Ghostbusters was a hit, Susan Sarandon brought the family)!! This year ANTZ with surprise guest speaker! Old favorites: Breakfast at Tiffanys (Who doesn't love this movie?!?) and On The Town (Old Blue Eyes at his finest!) And an old movie made new again (here's your chance to see the original!) - Manchurian Candidate (1960)

Each movie will be introduced with an anecdote about the film by an actor from the film or someone who played a major role in the production. Highlights of last year were Tony Roberts introducing Annie Hall and Ivan Reitman introducing Ghostbusters.

All these films have one thing in common - CENTRAL PARK! Central Park has been the backdrop or star of over 200 films (and counting!) Let's celebrate in the Park's beauty and enjoy an evening under the stars.

Film details are:

August 24 - 28, 2004
Breakfast at Tiffany's (August 24); The Manchurian Candidate
(August 25); On the Town (August 26); Antz (August 27); and
Tootsie (August 28th).
