Celebrating International Women's Day with our friends and audienceHAPPY WOMEN'S DAY TO ALL
We asked our audience what did you do today to actively support this cause.
Here are some of the stories we received and are are happy to share.
The Maryland International Film Festival (April 27 – 28, 2018) has been posting about the 26 women’s films that are either directed or produced by women and have been selected in our festival. Some of which are in the finals for their category. Our festival was started and run is run by a woman..me. :-) We have also been selected as one of the top 50 festivals worth your entry fee by MovieMaker Magazine so we are notable. :-) ....Warmest Regards, Tracie
Dear Bruno,
Chelsea Film Festival www.chelseafilm.org
Dear Bruno, In honor of International Women's Day, I want to share a testimony video of what women are all about. Thank you Alysia Reiner, Dascha Polanco, Julie Menin, Kára McCullough and Charlet Duboc for speaking the truth.
Happy Women's Day!
First Annual Women in Power Event in Partnership With CELLULOID DREAMS CELEBRATES We celebrate Women today and every day, bringing to cinemas worldwide strong, independent women in leading roles and behind the camera.
Coincidentally, we are hosting a women’s animation film festival, which grew out of another women’s arts inititative, SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now) back in 2008.
Next weekend (Saturday, March 17), MergingArts Productions is presenting a special encore edition of our annual Womanimation! Film festival at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, USA (https://massart.edu/).
Womanimation! celebrates the achievements of female animators from around the globe, in styles from traditional 2-d to 3-d and computer animation to stop-motion.
In June, we will present our 10th edition in suburban Boston (Framingham, MA).
Past participants have included notable (and under-exposed!) woman such as this year’s Oscar-nominee (for “The Breadwinner”) Nora Twomey, Signe Baumane, Nina Paley, and many others.
More information on the festival can be found on our website. We have been supporting independent women animators for a decade and hope to be doing so well into the future.
Regards, Paul
