Coincidentally, we are hosting a women’s animation film festival, which grew out of another women’s arts inititative, SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now) back in 2008.

Next weekend (Saturday, March 17), MergingArts Productions is presenting a special encore edition of our annual Womanimation! Film festival at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, USA (https://massart.edu/).

Womanimation! celebrates the achievements of female animators from around the globe, in styles from traditional 2-d to 3-d and computer animation to stop-motion.

In June, we will present our 10th edition in suburban Boston (Framingham, MA).

Past participants have included notable (and under-exposed!) woman such as this year’s Oscar-nominee (for “The Breadwinner”) Nora Twomey, Signe Baumane, Nina Paley, and many others.

More information on the festival can be found on our website.  We have been supporting independent women animators for a decade and hope to be doing so well into the future.

Regards,

Paul
