– It was announced today that the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE, which takes place in Bydgoszcz, Poland November 16 - 23, is partnering with the American Film Institute (AFI) and the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) to showcase select, award-winning festival films as part of its 4th Camerimage Winners Show in Los Angeles in January.

The Camerimage Winners Show is an initiative started by the Tumult Foundation, the Festival’s organizer, to broaden the Camerimage brand reputation as the world’s most recognized festival dedicated to the art of cinematography. The unconventional format of the Festival, which awards films according to their visual, aesthetic and technical values, is a unique alternative to traditional film festivals.

Together with the American Film Institute and the American Society of Cinematographers, the 4th Camerimage Winners Show program will introduce audiences to eight feature films, four short films, and two music videos.

For three days (January 24th – 26th, 2014), the selected award-winning projects will be shown at the American Film Institute's Mark Goodson screening room in Los Angeles where attendees will get to experience Camerimage as a result of the Festival’s exciting partnership with two of the industry’s most respected organizations.

The American Film Institute (AFI), one of the biggest non-profit educational and cultural organizations focused on film, is devoted to educating future filmmakers and honoring the heritage of the moving picture arts. The organization provides leadership in film, television and digital media and is dedicated to initiatives that engage the past, the present and the future of the moving image arts. The organization’s commitment spans to multiple organized award ceremonies, film festivals and programs that have become the industry’s most anticipated and respected events.

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing the art of filmmaking. Since its charter in 1919, the ASC has been committed to educating aspiring filmmakers and others about the art and craft of cinematography. It accomplishes this by publishing the internationally renowned magazine American Cinematographer and the venerable American Cinematographer Manual, through seminars at schools and industry events, and via one-on-one mentoring, which are staffed by ASC members who volunteer their time for such activities.
