Berlin, Feb,12, Day Number 2

The eary morning press conference for HOWL was better than the film itself. Both directors Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein were on hand to field probing questions from a sparse but more sophisticated press assemblage than usual.
Press screening for Polanski's "The Ghostwriter" starring Ewan McGregot and Pierce Brosnan, was packed to the rafters. The Press convfernce immediately following created a traffic jam at the top of the Hyatt stairs as ga-ga journalist/fans milled around to cop a closeup glance at former James Bondsman Brosnan. Film is a bit of a shaggy dogger implicating the CIA in War crimes (What else is new?), but acting and tension buildup, as par for the Polanski course, was top drawer. With glistening lenswork by ace Polish DOP, Pawel Edelman. set, of all places, in Martha"s Vineyard, Massachusetts, in the winter.
Later today, "My Name is Khan" press conference will be attended by SRK himself, co-star Kajol Devgan, and director Karan Johar direct from Bollywood.
