Babelgum Improves Usability with Website Relaunch

Babelgum, the free to view global television online network today announced the launch of a new web interface to thousands of hours of high quality video. The fully searchable library is accessible via www.babelgum.com and is fully integrated with the Babelgum client software. When users find and select a video, the client software launches automatically to deliver the high quality, full screen experience of broadcast television.

Developed as a direct result of user feedback, the integration of a web interface with Babelgum’s pre-installed client software delivers the best of both worlds. The peer to peer software provides efficient and reliable streaming of content, a highly configurable interface and a means by which advertisers can target specific demographic groups. The web interface provides a familiar means of searching for content and a convenient entry point to all the content being offered.

The web interface to Babelgum is organized into channel genres including animation, documentaries, lifestyle, sport and music which users can browse or search to find specific content. That content then launches in the pre-installed Babelgum client software. Users that haven’t previously installed the software are prompted to follow a quick and simple process to do so.

Valerio Zingarelli, Babelgum chief executive feels it is the right time to launch a web interface to Babelgum: “We have been consulting with our users and industry throughout our beta phase and we are now delivering what they would like to see. They want to be able to find what they want, when they want and in the way they want. The web interface makes that possible. The close interaction and seamless interactivity between the website and software client itself resolves any barriers of use issues for viewers.”

Babelgum has something for everyone and is easy to use, accessible by broadband users whether at home or at work, and it provides TV-quality viewing combined with the interactivity of the net.
