Announcing NFFTY's 2022 in-person events in Seattle!

JOIN NFFTY FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS
Happening in Seattle, April 28 - May 1
There's more to NFFTY than you know! In addition to their 15th Anniversary lineup of over 250 short films from the next generation of filmmakers, this year's festival includes a weekend of in-person keynotes, masterclasses, and workshops to expand your film knowledge and meet others in the industry.

Event highlights include NFFTY's 2022 Keynote: Adapting a Personal Narrative for Multiple Media, with filmmaker Wes Hurley (POTATO DREAMS OF AMERICA). Wes will discuss his journey adapting his personal story immigrating from Russia with his mother as a teenager from a short experimental documentary, LITTLE POTATO (2017) and a VR short POTATO DREAMS (2017) to a feature narrative -- from concept to execution and how each piece tells his story from a different vantage point and connects with audiences in a unique way. This conversation will be moderated by curator, educator, and filmmaker Anna Feder.

Award-winning Director Martin Strange-Hansen will talk the audience through Using Personal Experiences In Your Filmmaking, discussing the personal experiences, traumas and events behind his Student Academy Award-winning graduation film FEEDING DESIRE, his Oscar-winning short film THIS CHARMING MIND and his new short film, the Oscar-nominated ON MY MIND.

Writer/Director Mari Walker will be on stage for Intimate Cinema With Impact, discussing queer stories beyond coming out, building community around your project, and the importance of cinema culture. Mari's first feature SEE YOU THEN premiered at SXSW last year, has played at over 50 film festivals around the world.

And indie film champions Seed & Spark will be presenting two workshops to help up-and-coming filmmakers crowdfund their project and manage their budget: Putting the FUN in CrowdFUNding and Stretch That Buck: Film Budgeting 101.

Many of these events will be livestreamed on Eventive over the course of the festival weekend! Click here for more details on livestream events -- and tune into NFFTY's Facebook page for live broadcasts of Q&As and our Awards Ceremony on closing night!
