Anderson Tribute and Zurlini Retrospective at the Edinburgh Festival.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival will organize a tribute to Scottish director Lindsay Anderson, which includes a performance by esteemed actor Malcolm McDowell; and a retrospective on Valerio Zurlini, one of the most influential Italian filmmakers of his generation.

Commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of director Lindsay Anderson, EIFF will be screening two of his features, O LUCKY MAN! (1973) and THE WHALES OF AUGUST (1987), and hosting a panel discussion with a number of Anderson's creative associates.

On Monday 23 August, actor Malcolm McDowell, (who made his screen debut in Anderson's IF...(1968)) will perform a one-man show consisting of Malcolm's personal stories and anecdotes about Lindsay Anderson. Interspersed will be a selection of reaings from Lindsay's critical writings, drawn from the forthcoming book, NEVER APOLOGISE, edited by Paul Ryan at the Traverse Theatre.
