26 FILMS WILL COMPETE IN THE OFFICIAL SECTION OF THE DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL POINT OF VIEW

Having appraised the 368 films presented for pre-selection, the festival's selection committee has chosen 16 long and 10 short documentary films for the competition stage. These films shall be screened during the festival for all audiences from the 18th to the 26th of February 2005, and shall contend for the following prizes:

The 26 films selected shall be screened from the 18th to the 26th of February as part of the I International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra POINT OF VIEW. In addition to the Official Competition Section, the festival shall also screen the winning films from the best documentary film festivals from around the world as part of the FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS section.

It shall also organise a RETROSPECTIVE of the French director and photographer Raymond Depardon and shall pay TRIBUTE to the director Pío Caro Baroja for his work as ethnographic documentary filmmaker and to the filmmaker Jean Vigo, the first person to speak of "point of view" documentaries, in the hundredth anniversary of the year of his birth.
