Summer’s here and you know what that means… A new autumn season of documentary films is just around the corner! We can’t wait to see your bright and smiling faces fill up the rooms once again at Ji.hlava’s screening events, industry program, and Inspiration Forum discussion boards. 

The 26th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival will take place from October 25th to October 30th, 2022. The in-person segment of the festival will be followed by Ji.hlava Online, put together for the third year in a row in close collaboration with the VOD portal DAFilms.com.

What can you look forward to this year? Well, to begin with, we will screen the world premiere of the director’s cut of Kunstkamera, the latest film by visual artist and director Jan Švankmajer. Then, of course, there will be the second edition of the pan-European pitching forum and film market, Ji.hlava New Visions, aimed at projects from the emerging generation of filmmakers. More detailed information about our film and industry programs will be published at the end of August.

Until then, you can meet us in August at the Sarajevo Film Festival, where we’ll be presenting finished documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe as part of the Docu Talents from the East showcase.

And, of course, we hope to see you in Jihlava at the end of October, where once again, the white line will lead you back to the “Holy Mecca of Documentary Film” as Ji.hlava was once referred to by Manoel de Oliveira.
