Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. It is organised every year by the Le Public Système Cinéma and the Centre International de Deauville, and presents over 100 films to audiences in three different sites: the Centre International de Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barrière Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. Rebecca Zlotowski, Revelation Jury President at Deauville Festival

Born in 1980 in Paris, Rebec­ca Zlo­tows­ki is a French screen­writer and direc­tor. She grad­u­at­ed from the Ecole Nor­male Supérieure and French film school La Fémis, and holds a PHD in mod­ern lit­er­a­ture. She direct­ed four fea­ture films with­in the span of ten years: Dear Pru­dence in 2010 (select­ed at the Cannes’ Crit­ics’ Week, and recip­i­ent of the Louis-Del­luc Prize for Best First Film and the FIPRESCI Prize) which gave Léa Sey­doux one of her first on-screen per­for­mances, Grand Cen­tral with Tahar Rahim (select­ed at the Fes­ti­val de Cannes in 2013), Plan­e­tar­i­um with Natal­ie Port­man and Lily-Rose Depp (select­ed at the Venice Film Fes­ti­val in 2016) and An Easy Girl (recip­i­ent of the SACD Prize at the Cannes’ Direc­tors’ Fort­night in 2019), star­ring Zahia Dehar and Benoît Mag­imel. She direct­ed and co-cre­at­ed the same year the mini-series Sav­ages, based on Sabri Louatah’s nov­el, which pre­miered in France on Canal Plus, with Roschdy Zem as the first French Pres­i­dent with Alger­ian descent.
