Deauville Festival Of American Film

English Français

Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. It is organised every year by the Le Public Système Cinéma and the Centre International de Deauville, and presents over 100 films to audiences in three different sites: the Centre International de Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barrière Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. The Festival is an event open to everyone, professionals and cinema enthusiasts alike. Follow us and get updates on Facebook and Twitter @DeauvilleUS #Deauville2020

Geena Davis Tribute with a Deauville Talent Award

Geena Davis was in Deauville to receive The Deauville Talent Award and present her documentary This Changes Everything.

We followed her at her press conference and photo shoot on the beach.

This Changes Everything.

This documentary uncovers what is behind one of the most confounding dilemmas in the American entertainment industry: the underrepresentation and misrepresentation of women. Backed by hundreds of stories and overwhelming data, the film puts forward decades of discrimination against women in Hollywood, behind and in front of the camera. Most importantly, it seeks pathways and solutions from within and outside the industry, and around the world.

Thelma and Louise by Ridley Scott was shown part of the tribute to Geena Davis, I could not resist watching it again: the film, the subject, even themusic have not aged a bit. what a glorious casting, another masterpiece winning the test of time.
