Radiant Films International: PLUS ONE

Leading sales agent Radiant Films International has come on board to handle foreign sales for the romantic comedy Plus One, written and directed by Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer (Hulu’s “PEN15”, truTV’s “Adam Ruins Everything”) and winner of this year’s coveted Tribeca Film Festival Narrative Audience Award. The announcement was made today by Radiant’s President and CEO, Mimi Steinbauer who negotiated the deal to represent the film alongside Verve, who handled the rights on behalf of the filmmakers.

Radiant will screen the funny, charming and heartwarming film for buyers at the upcoming Marche du Film following its world premiere debut at Tribeca.

The film stars Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games franchise, FilmNation’s Logan Lucky, and Warner Bros’ Rampage) and phenomenal newcomer Maya Erskine who can next be seen in the upcoming Wine Country starring Amy Poehler, co-created and stars in Hulu’s Pen15 and features in FilmBuff’s When Jeff Tried to Save the World. The film co-stars Ed Begley Jr. (Pineapple Express, Ghostbusters), Rosalind Chao (upcoming Mulan, Freaky Friday) and Beck Bennett (upcoming The Angry Birds Movie 2, DuckTales).

Plus One is the directorial debut for Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer and inspired by their real life experience when all of their friends started getting married at the same time. In order to survive a summer of wedding fever, longtime single friends Ben (Quaid) and Alice (Erskine) agree to be each other’s plus one at every ‘goddamn wedding they’re invited to.’

“Radiant is delighted to present such a fun and uplifting romantic comedy to international buyers at the upcoming Cannes Market,” says Steinbauer. “Jack Quaid and Maya Erskine have undeniable chemistry and are hilarious in this wonderful, refreshing film!”

Plus One is produced by Deborah Liebling (“South Park”, “PEN15”), Ross Putman (First Girl I Loved), Jeremy Reitz (“PEN15”), Greg Beauchamp (Zion), along with Chan and Rhymer. Ben Stiller executive produces through his Red Hour Films banner with Nicholas Weinstock and Jackie Cohn.  Michael Schreiber and Dan Weinstein exec produce for Studio71.  Lunacy Productions’ Stu Pollard and Harris McCabe, Inwood Road Films’ James Short and John Short, and Milan Chakraborty also exec produce.

RLJE Films recently acquired US rights to the film ahead of its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
