No Thai Night, no Thailand Happy Hour, but...We all grumble about the markets, don't we? The films aren't what they used to be. The sales aren't what they used to be. And the cost of going is just too expensive... But... Don't you miss a glass of rosé as the sun sets over the Croisette, or some of the great Hong Kong food at Filmart? Sadly, we can't do much about that. Right now, we can't even offer you the Thai food and Singha beer at Thai Night.
But we will be back as soon as is safely possible. The Thai government has been very supportive of the film industry, through many different programs. We've arranged tours for producers and location executives, and flown them to Thailand. We organize Thai Nights at Cannes, Hong Kong Filmart, and AFM. We have organized business matching programs, flying executives to Bangkok. We've organized film festivals, lunches, receptions. We've published our own magazine.
We have organized all these promotions, because we want to show how much Thailand and Thai companies have to offer. And as Thailand cautiously lifts the lockdown restrictions, with a total of just over 3,000 total cases reported, it's going to be a great choice as a location for your productions.
Filming is now permitted once again in Thailand, with a sensible set of safety protocols in place. And international flights are due to re-open on 1st July.
SO...
Find out how Thailand's top production service companies are dealing with the situation. Talk to them about how you could move your production to Thailand. From 25th to 27th May, a special on-line event will enable you to speak to them via Zoom meetings.
To find out more, to speak to the production service companies, or to let us know that you still have an interest in filming in Thailand, so that we can keep you on our mailing and invitation lists. at: http://move.ditp.go.th/onlinebusiness
