GLORIOUS DEAD (a Multilingual Feature Film)

Genre :   Experimental

Duration : 87 minutes

A Film by Dr Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar

Producer  Ms Rita Jhawar , India

Co Producer Vito Shakaj, USA

Production by NEZ Moving Pixels

Glorious Dead is an amazingly daring project. The movie is much more than a narrative storytelling. It assumes the dimension of a Magnum Opus by the sheer audacity of its drama. The movie begins from the time of first human and moves seamlessly between a pseudo religious societal brahminical order that is gradually demolished by seemingly powerless women, to the story of a legendary German actress living in seclusion in Cannes and slow unraveling of a larger than life aura of an Indian Film Director and the libidinous relationship of him with his cantankerous actress by a seemingly illusionary Lucifer and his female companion. They both, the illusionary Lucifer and his companion, teaches the German actress emancipation from restricting thoughts of glory, darkness, and the frailty of fame. The entire narrative stems from the seemingly harmless journey of four forest women through the treachery of ego, and the ensuing human sins and their subsequent actions which leave everlasting impressions on every character of the movie thereafter. They, the characters of the movie seem to be guided by the actions of the four women. The movie is absurdly simplistic at times and yet it leaves a latent question that can only be deciphered by the viewer.

LUST (a feature film in english)

Genre :  Film Noir

Duration : 71mins

A Film by Dr Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar

Producer  Ms Rita Jhawar

Production by NEZ Moving Pixels

LUST -- From eternity to eternity it houses the devils along with God, residing sometimes placidly, sometimes turbulently. Therein lies the story of humankind. Lust is a mythical dialogue between consciousness and ego. Ego in the form of two females questions consciousness about the need and necessity of lust. Consciousness in the form of a story teller takes the two female through sessions of storytelling, justifying lust. The movie is three stories from past, present and future dimensions. The storyteller weaves tales real as well as surreal seamlessly till it is one harmonious blend. The movie raises questions yet answers none. The answers are for the audience to deliver.

UMFORMUNG - The Transformation  (a feature film in hindi)

Genre : Spiritual

Duration : 2 hrs 6mins 36secs

A Film by Dr Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar

UMFORMUNG-THE TRANSFORMATION - is a story of intense dimensions. The movie is about two parallel stories;one, that of a Buddhist monk in search of his inner truths that takes him away from the abode of his guru in idyllic monastery in  mountains and brings him face to face with prostitutes in a city brothel. His thought about life and enlightment undergoes complete transformation. Simultaneously there is a female city Builder whose belief in life is all about power, greed and manipulation;and she does this with a vengeance. She has a past that compels her to lead a life of power;but that past turns out to be something else with devastating consequences. The past of both monk and the women transform them with explosive consequences. The movie is all about the journey within for both these protagonists.

PARADISO (a feature film in hindi )

Genre : Black Comedy

Duration : 96 mins

A Film by Dr Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar

Producer : Rita Jhawar

Production by NEZ Moving Pixels

Paradiso is a movie that is at once comic, and also intensely profound and tragic. Though set in 1960’s, in a city, somewhere resembling Kolkata, in India, yet, the story is relevant, now all the more. In fact, the theme of the movie is timeless. The loneliness of a man who mirrors the perception of his family, because of his self imposed silence is at once hilarious as well dark. In a way it mirrors the emptiness of our soul. The man lives in the world, one `Real’, one `Imagined’ till the point where both collide and become one. To see the movie is at once humbling and profound.
