— Spot the Composer

From Monday 22 to Friday 26, Spot the Composer will provide music lovers and industry professionals with opportunities to meet for potential collaborations or to enjoy online concerts from world-renowned composers.

From 19:00 to 19:45 (UTC+2), take part in Meet & Listen Chloé Thévenin, an online concert introduced by Philippe Azoury. Chloé was commissioned in 2012 by La Cinémathèque Française to compose the soundtrack for Hitchcock’s last silent film Blackmail (1929). She has also collaborated with filmmaker Lidia Terki on the film Paris La Blanche, and has just finished composing the soundtrack for director Laurent Cantet's Arthur Rambo.

 

 — Shoot the Book!

Co-organized with SCELF and Institut Français, Shoot the Book! will bring together 40 publishers (20 French publishers and 20 European agents/publishers) and International producers seeking future projects.

This operation will take place from 15:00 to 18:00 (UTC+2) in two stages:

  • In the morning, the pitches session of Shoot the Book! will give publishers the chance to present 10 books selected by a jury of audiovisual professionals for their adaptation potential. Producers attending the Marché du Film Online will be given the opportunity to discover these stories from 10:30 (UTC+2)
  • In the afternoon, from 15:00 to 18:00 (UTC+2), 40 publishers (20 French publishers and 20 international agents/publishers) will meet international producers to discuss potential projects « through one-to-one meetings »

As an addition to the program, participants will be able to attend the Special Shoot the book ! Talk on Adaptation on Friday 26 from 14:00 to 15:00 (UTC+2) conducted by Ben Croll (Variety) with Ed Guiney (producer of The Lobster, Normal people and Conversation with Friends) on the Marché du Film Online at the Pavillon des Cinémas du Monde / Institut français.

This event is organised by SCELF’s (Société Civile des Editeurs de Langue Française) and Institut Français. It is supported by the BIEF (Bureau International de l’Edition Française), the Centre Français de la Copie and the Sofia, the Frankfurter Buchmesse, Film Paris Region and ProHelvetia.

Cannes NEXT summit is the annual highlight of the innovation track of the Marche du Film- Festival De Cannes focusing on the future of creativity, technology, and content with keynotes, showcases and presentations from visionary speakers to the exhibition of latest technologies, platforms, and business models.

Within the four and half hour keynote marathon of the 2020 edition expect:
