Cannes XR Virtual kicks off on Wednesday 24 and will run until Friday 26.

The Marché du Film, Tribeca, Kaleidoscope, the Museum of Other Realities, VeeR VR and Positron have partnered this year to reshape a groundbreaking event online and in virtual reality : Cannes XR Virtual will be presented in different formats on several platforms:

With your tethered headset at the Museum of Other Realities

Join the other participants with your tethered headset, like Rift, Vive or Index to access the 55 VR pieces and prototypes of the exhibition, meet the artists and attend our VR social events (Opening Party, Award Ceremony) . 

Download the MOR application in advance as we anticipate a significant downloading time.  

The MOR app is free to download from the Steam store starting today June 23 and will remain so for the duration of the event. The application is 60GB+ so please allocate at least two hours for the download.

Follow Cannes XR on the Marché du Film Online where a 2D live video stream will be displayed. It’s also the place to attend all Cannes XR conferences in 2D and in replay. Benefit from the networking opportunities at the Marché du Film, enjoy access to all industry events, virtual booths, pavilions and screenings, from 22 to 26 June, with your Marché du Film Online accreditation. Otherwise a 2D stream of the conferences will be also available on Tribeca Film Festival and Kaleidoscope websites.

From Monday 22 to Friday 26, Spot the Composer will provide music lovers and industry professionals with opportunities to meet for potential collaborations or to enjoy online concerts from world-renowned composers.

From 19:00 to 19:45 (UTC+2), take part in Meet & Listen Ryūichi Sakamoto, an online concert introduced by Sten-Kristian Saluveer. « Incomplete »: premiere of his new collaboration with Laurie Anderson & Arto Lindsay « In these times when things are not “normal,” I wanted to document the sensations I’ve been feeling. I invited a few of my musician friends to do this with me. I wanted to share the results with you all.” - Ryūichi Sakamoto.​

Meet the Streamers: The evolution of the VoD platform model: A platform for the European market, exploring the possibilities with TUBI’s Chief Content Officer, Adam Lewinson

The keynote will be held 18:00 (UTC+2)

As subscription VoD reaches saturation point other content monetization models are rising to the fore. What will enable them to stand out in this increasingly crowded market?

Ampere Analysis’ Richard Cooper will present the evolution of VoD platform and what will come next to complete with, and complement, the incumbent subscription services. Richard will then host a one-on-one interview with Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer of rising ad-supported VoD platform TUBI. TUBI, acquired by Fox in March 2020, streamed over 200 million hours of content in April 2020 alone.

The first panel How to resume film production? Prospects and challenges will be held from 09:00 to 10:00 (UTC+2)

How will producers in the East and the West resume production and will the Chinese market become even more relevant once the industry starts recovering? Although we are currently facing a temporary economic slowdown, China has the world's largest population and it still represents the biggest potential audience for audiovisuals. Being familiar with the players and procedures of this landscape is more strategic than ever.
