101 Films Line up in Cannes

101 Films, an Amcomri Media Group company, has confirmed the all rights’ acquisition of a significant slate of movies for release in the UK ahead of the Marche Du Film.

Leading a strong and eclectic slate is Nuclear (2019), acquired from Ida Martins at Media Luna, a tense and haunting tale of a toxic family with a dangerous past, starring George MacKay – fresh from his starring role in 1917, alongside Emilia Jones of supernatural Netflix hit Locke & Key

The Complex (2020) is a prescient and ultra-modern London-set sci-fi starring Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, The Witch) and was acquired from John Giwa-Amu at Red and Black Films.

Fantasy adventure Adventures of Rufus – The Fantastic Pet (2019), a mix of live action and animation and Joey and Ella – A Kangaroo Tail (2021), are two high quality family titles, acquired from Jerome Reygner-Kalfon at Ace Entertainment

Money Plane (2020), acquired from Tyler Konney at Taylor & Dodge, is an all-action, mile-high thriller starring Kelsey Grammer, Thomas Jane and Adam Copeland, in which a professional thief attempts a heist on an airborne casino filled with the world's most dangerous criminals.

Finally, Pharaoh’s War (2019), acquired from Elias Axume at Premiere Entertainment, a modern war thriller starring Icelandic strongman Hafthor Julius Bjornsson (Game of Thrones’ Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane) and comeback king Mike Tyson as a military man battling mercenaries in the Egyptian desert.

101 Films’ Managing Director Andy Lyon comments “101 Films is actively accelerating its UK acquisitions strategy as we look to bolster our already significant library of films in the UK, part of our long term goal is to acquire a significant volume of individual new movies and libraries where they make commercial sense to acquire as a whole.  We already have one of the largest libraries of independent film rights in UK and look to invest further into this library”.

101 Films will be attending Virtual Marche Du Film between 22nd and 26th June and invites sales agents and producers to make contact with its Head of Acquisitions, Steve Davey (Steve@101-films.com / +44 7712 601 708).
