Announced on Friday was a partnership between the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore and Tiger Gate Entertainment, a joint venture in itself between Lionsgate and Saban Capital Group.  Together they plan on releasing multi-platform features in the action, horror and thriller genre to worldwide markets over the next four years.  As stated by "The Hollywood Reporter: The Daily Cannes," Tiger Gate will be taking charge of all platforms distribution within Asia, and Lionsgate everything outside of the country.  This is the latest push for co-productions and international cooperations for Singapore, and in addition to several other available funding options, will present greater opportunities for Singapore filmmakers.  This collaboration seems to be pleasing for both parties as Singapore will now have access to Lionsgate's global distribution network, and Tiger Gate will be able to increase features on their KIX and Thrill channels in the genre that Asia specializes in.
