His Excellency Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan Chairman, Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage invited the Cannes festival professionnals at Mint Villa to celebrate the launch of the Middle East International Film Festival and The Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

The upcoming Abu Dhabi Film Festival will play host to financiers, studio executives, government film agencies, film-makers and talent from around the world. The festival focused on the increasingly international nature of the film industry in both audiences and production – showcasing international co-production, and providing a forum for a discussion or international film finance issues and of serious commercial film-making. The Festival offers a truly unique approach among existing festivals worldwide.A one-stop-shop for motion picture production in the region offering a diversity of landscapes, a diversity of populations and an offering of financial and non-fiscal incentives unmatched in the region. The ADFC serves to support productions through the entire term of their in the UAE from research to permits, to staff and facilities advice to location scouting and stock footage, to advising about local customs and heritage.The ADFC shall assist filmmakers by offering project development funding and grants for co-productions in addition to helping local talents represent their projects in the global marketplace. The ADFC shall also produce various publications including information guides and directories of national policies, location, yearly productions and local practitioners.
