Youth Jury To Award Prize To A German Film

Sunday, February 11---Seven young film fans from Germany and France comprise the independent jury that will determine the DIALOGUE EN PERSPECTIVE prize, which is awarded to a German feature film in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the Berlinale. The prize was initiated in 2004 by the French TV Channel TV5MONDE and the Berlinale, and will be awarded in collaboration with the Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk (DFJW).

In view of the large number of excellent entries, the selection committee, comprised of representatives of TV5MONDE, the DFJW and the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section, were faced with a difficult task of selecting the three German and four French members of the jury. The role of the young film fans is to make a contribution to intercultural dialogue and to view the new German cinema from a critical, youthful, German-French standpoint.

The following members were selected for this year’s jury:

Anja Göbel, 26, Lüneburg, Germany
Michael Hack, 26, Frankfurt/Main, Germany
Anton Ludwig, 18, Berlin, Germany
Stéphane Demoustier, 29, Paris, France
Aurore Giraudon, 22, Nantes, France
Thomas Hochmann, 25, Lyon, France
Elisabeth Scherrer, 23, Saint-Cloud, France

This year’s chairperson of the jury is Mathilde Bonnefoy. In 1999, she won the German film award as master cutter for the film RUN LOLA RUN, directed by Tom Tykwer. The DIALOGUE EN PERSPECTIVE prize will be announced on the final weekend of the Berlinale.
