First Films in Panorama Confirmed: Counter Movements

 

Panorama is announcing its first eleven titles, seven of which are world premieres. A total of 16 countries have been involved in their production. First topics: rebellion and anti-heroes. Nora Fingscheidt, Jérémy Clapin, Aslı Özge, Josef Hader, Ray Yeung, Jane Schoenbrun, Carmen Jaquier and Jan Gassmann are all presenting their latest films.

2024 Retrospective – “An Alternate Cinema – From the Deutsche Kinemathek Archives” – Final Selection Encompasses 23 Films

 

The Retrospective “An Alternate Cinema” will present 23 films, including two world premieres of digital restorations. The section will screen independent and unusual productions from the holdings of the Deutsche Kinemathek, with works by Michael Brynntrup, İsmet Elçi, Eva Hiller, Helke Misselwitz, and Ulrich Schamoni, among others.

Berlinale Spotlight: Berlinale Shorts & Generation – Guests at the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation in Berlin

 

For many years now, the Berlinale has been present outside of the festival period with specially curated programmes. The next Berlinale Spotlight focuses on the topics of displacement, expulsion and reconciliation. In the scope of two events – Berlinale Shorts (December 21, 2023) and Generation (January 17, 2024) – films from past editions will be screened, followed in each case by a Q&A.
