Kristen Stewart, at 32 is the youngest Berlinale jury president in history. On Saturday she joined Iranian filmmakers and talents on the Red Carpet to chant the slogan “Women, Life, Freedom!”and demanding the release of imprisoned journalists and Iranian rapper.

In the opening press conference of the Jury she said these very inspiring words.

“We are living in the most reactive, emotionally whiplashed time…

It’s the job of an artist to take a disgusting and ugly thing and transmute it, put it through your body and pop out something beautiful and more helpful…something considered and not something knee-jerk reactive”.
