Berlinale with 11 french Talents

Berlinale Talents is very proud to announce the selection of 255 film professionals -  126 women, 123 men and six that preferred to not state their gender - from 86 countries for the 18th edition of Berlinale Talents. In our most recent press release you’ll find more info about some of the exciting talents and links to the Talent profiles/projects.

11 of the chosen filmmakers are working and living in France, among them:

·         The dual French and Argentinian citizen Pilar Peredo, who produced Jayro Bustamante’s award-winning films Ixcanul and Temblores

·         Thomas Goguelin, whose sound design credits include Dressed for pleasure (2018) which was given a special mention of the jury of the Berlinale Generation program, and who is part of a 5 people electronic music band called DSCRD that played at Atonal and other festivals

·         Nara Normande, who directed the film animated short Guaxuma that was selected in Annecy and TIFF’s competition, winning several awards including Best Animation at SXSW and Best International Short at Palm Springs

·         Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis, whose experimental work encompasses films such as the hybrid doc Swatted, which picked up several awards including Special Jury Award in the category “Labo” at Clermond-Ferrand

The French listing is complemented by Pierre-Adrien Ceccaldi, who produces documentary forms and currently resides in Gabon; Jeanne Louët, a production designer based in Germany; as well as Jeanne-Marie Poulain, who lives in Canada and produced Denis Coté’s bodybuilding-documentary A Skin so Soft amongst others.

Together the 255 Talents will participate in an intense six-day programme featuring around 100 events with internationally renowned experts and acclaimed Berlinale guests holding workshops and talks, many of which are open to the public. Berlinale Talents takes place at the HAU Hebbel am Ufer, February 22-27, 2020. The complete Berlinale Talents programme will be online on February 11, 2020.
