Competition winners at the 10^th Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) were revealed at an awards ceremony held at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.

The competition categories at BIFF were Spirit of Freedom: Narrative; Documentary; New Visions: First Look; and Short Film.

This year, the Festival showcased 108 films from 32 different countries, including four features of which were world premieres - and all Bahamian premieres.

Special sections included the Youth Film Workshop films made by five schools as well as a World Cinema showcase spotlighting Chinese films provided by the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas.

Celebrating its 10^th year, the Bahamas International Film Festival has established itself as a marquee international Festival in the Caribbean region, discovering and promoting independent voices and talent from around the world and showcasing a diverse array of international films.

For the second consecutive year, after the awards night, BIFF will be come to Harbour Island (December 9-11) and Governor’s Harbour December (11-13 and showcase a diverse presentation of films from around the world accompanied by a group of local and international filmmakers.
