Wendy Ross Eidson

Born and raised in Toronto, Wendy Ross Eldson got her first job at 14 as a P.A. on a TV series, and found her calling. After college, she began working full-time as an assistant director on many film and TV productions. She moved to San Luis Obispo, CA in 1989 and started a family and a mail-order food business. They sold it in 2000 and she became the ED of the SLO Little Theatre. Four years later she was hired as Artistic Director of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, and has been the Festival Director for over 13 years. She recently built a house in LaHave, NS and plans to spend as much time there as possible.

Barbara Doran

Barbara Doran has been writing, directing and producing internationally acclaimed documentaries, features and drama series over 35 years and has more than 30 films to her credit. Some of these include the international box office hit, The Grand Seduction starring Brendan Gleeson, Taylor Kitsch & Liane Balaban. The diverse subjects of Doran’s films reflect the breadth of her interests:  the sweatshops in Guatemala, women prisoners in Pakistan, AIDS workers in South Africa, serial killers on death row, the music and poetry of Newfoundland and Ireland, the French presence in Newfoundland and the First World War slaughter at Beaumont Hamel.

Marc Garniss

Marc Garniss is the Director of the Kingston Canadian Film Festival (KCFF), the globe’s largest all-Canadian film festival.  The 2019 festival will be his seventh season with the organization. Prior to KCFF, Garniss managed KPP Concerts, a concert promotion company he formed while studying History at Queen’s University from 1998-2002. Garniss' interests include hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing guitar (he toured in a band from 2007-2010, playing shows across North America and Europe), and of course, Canadian movies. He is an avid festival-goer, with recent visits to the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Orlando Fringe Festival.
