Our Opening Night film was James Redford's Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution. The evening was mutually rewarding:

Congratulations to MSU School of Film & Photography grad Colter Olmstead. His short film,  'Drawback' won Best  Documentary Short!

Artist Ben Pease and Producer Gale Anne Hurd of Mankiller accepted the BZN Spirit Award. Ms. Hurd expressed her surprise and delight that a Film Festival could be so well organized and enriching right out of the gate!

Producer/Director Signe Taylor accepted the Award for Best Documentary Feature, It's Criminal. The Festival Conversation following the screening was extraordinary!

Although French Writer/Director/Producer Michael Barocas could not attend to accept the Award for his Experimental Short, Deux Mains (Two Hands), there was not a dry eye in the audience when we showed it at the Ceremony.
What a testament to the power of film!

Writer/Director Amanda Kernell wasn't able to travel from Sweden to accept the award for
Best Narrative Feature, Sámi Blood.
But, one of our intrepid volunteers accepted the challenge to bring the Award to Sweden!

 Where the Wild Things Play opened the Festival and took Best Narrative Short.  Director/Producer Krystle Wright, who also created
In Perpetual Motion was off someplace exotic filming her next adventure...

 

... And we're on to ours. Venues are already booked for
