The Year of Electronic and Dance Music at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards Nominations were announced by The Recording Academy on Friday, November 30, 2011. It is the year that marks a profound presence in the genre of electronic and dance music. Electronic dance music producer Skrillex (Sonny John Moore) received five Grammy nominations including Best New Artist. 14-time Grammy winner producer/singer Kanye West received seven Grammy nominations including Song of the Year. Adele, Bruno Mars, and Foo Fighters received six Grammy nominations, and five Grammy nominations went to rap artist Lil Wayne.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards presented by The Recording Academy for musical excellence in the recording arts and sciences to artists and technical professionals of 2011, hosted by Two-time GRAMMY winner LL COOL J, produced by John Cossette Productions and AEG Ehrlich Ventures commence Sunday, February 12, 2012, 8:00pm ET at the STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, California. Live television coverage of 2012 Grammy Awards can be seen in the U.S. on CBS Network and online at www.GRAMMY.com, www.CBS.com, and www.youtube.com/thegrammys.

This year’s Grammy nominees performing live includes Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and many others. For the first time, 2012 Grammy program book will be available nationwide and the Grammy Nominees album is available January 24. The 54th Grammy Awards nomination short category list are:
