Eighth Annual 2011 High Performance Computing Show & Conference

The Eighth Annual 2011 High Performance Computing (HPC) Show & Conference was held at the Roosevelt Hotel, New York, Monday, September 19, 2011. Presented by Flagg Management, Inc., High Performance Computing Financial Markets annually showcase the latest technological innovations for financial firms in Wall Street and the global market to accelerate trades (ultra fast processors, low latency, network systems, Cloud Computing, Virtualization, precise time synchronization). HPC reception at MAD46 Rooftop Lounge immediately followed the show and conference.

This year’s show and conference sponsored by Arista, Blade Network Technologies, Dell, Global Investment Technology, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, SYBASE and many others included keynote presentation, seminars, workshops, exhibitors show floor, and reception. Industry executives, professionals, computer scientists, and entrepreneurs from around the world attended HPC.

HPC Session “Cloud Computing is an Opportunity for Financial Firms to Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness,” commenced Monday, September 19, 1:30pm. This informative session discussed the latest HPC Cloud innovations for faster service delivery and integration. The panelist of leading experts included Egan Ford, IBM executive IT specialist, IBM Corporation; Michael Jackson, co-founder/vice president, Adaptive Computing; and Jay Muelhoefer, vice president marketing, Platform Computing. Industry executives, information technologists, and senior analysts attended this highly informative session.

HPC Session “Cloud Computing Provides the Opportunity to Build a Large Scale Hosted Service to Control Security, Workloads and Orchestration,” commenced Monday, September 19, 2:30pm. This outstanding session revealed the race towards reducing latency to real-time by providing data decompression, infrastructure as a service (Global workstations, database farms), and platform as a service. The panelist of leading experts included Steve Bologna, Global FSI Solutions Group, Sybase, Inc., Thomas Fay, vice president, NASDAQ OMX, and Mike McGrath, Hed Hat, Inc., moderated by Henry Chien, TABB GROUP. Industry executives, information technologists, and senior analysts attended this highly informative session.
