Rick Smolan’s Tracks Keynote Presentation at PPE 2013

The 30th Annual 2013 PhotoPlus Expo (PPE 2013) TRACKS: From the Cover of National Geographic to the Silver Screen Keynote Presentation with author and photographer Rick Smolan commenced Saturday, October 26, 12:00 PM at Javits Convention Center, New York. Speaker Rick Smolan discussed his 1977 fascinating photojournalist assignment for National Geographic chronicling the extraordinary Robyn Davidson's nine-month lone journey with her dog and three camels across the Gibson Desert “Outback” in Australia. Smolan used approximately 500 rolls of film throughout his assignment. A book release signing of "From Alice to Ocean: Alone Across the Outback," immediately followed with co-author Rick Smolan.

TRACKS a biopic drama of Robyn Davidson's lone journey across the Australian outback, directed by John Curran, distributed by The Weinstein Company, starring Mia Wasikowska as Robyn Davidson and Adam Driver as Rick Smolan to be released in theaters Spring 2014.
