Among the highlights of this year's festival, don't miss the chance to experience a unique immersive VR session.

Neil Bell brings to Montreal his creation "Fortress Europe ", where participants will be able to experience in a unique set-up installation the passage of Syrian refugees though Eastern and Central Europe at the back of a moving truck.

'Fortress Europe is part of the Migrant’s Journey series, a virtual reality documentary experience which puts you in the place of a refugee who risks his/her life for a chance of a new beginning, a new life. Imagine travelling from Syria across the Mediterranean sea or in the back of a truck. Now you can feel how it is to try to escape…with your life.'

Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm | McCord Museum

Junod teaser Gala Screening At Montreal International Film Festival

JUNOD: Special Screening from Japan

The story of a 'Hiroshima's Benefactor', a Swiss doctor who became a Japanese hero, travels to MIAFF for a special screening this Saturday at 3.30 pm at the McCord Museum.

The director and producer Shizuko Tsuya was inspired by Swiss doctor Marcel Junod. Ever since marrying and coming to Hiroshima in 1982,

She read Junod’s diary, Warrior without Weapons. As a field delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross, he delivered 15 tons of medical supplies to Hiroshima after the A-bombing. His love of humanity transcended race, nationality and religion.
