“TOMORROW’S TALENT” Ceremony Celebrates Animation Talents.

“TOMORROW’S TALENT” CEREMONY

WEDNESDAY 11 MAY 2016 – PALAIS DES FESTIVALS, Cannes

Filmfestivals.com and Animation Day in Cannes partnered with Tomorrow's Talent to bring you this invitation to Celebrate Animation Talents:

The second “Tomorrow’s talent” ceremony will take place on Wednesday 11th May 2016 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.  Established in 2015 by Sunny Media Ltd to reward movie animation professionals with high potential, this awards ceremony takes place each year before the official opening of the Film Festival.  With an awards ceremony and the exclusive projection of a feature film, like the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, “Tomorrow’s talent” seeks to promote innovative, quality cinema.

2016 WINNERS:  LES FÉES SPÉCIALES

Yuan MA and Dake DONG, winners of 2015 for their animation movie Legend of a Rabbit – The Martial of Fire, will have the honour of awarding “Tomorrow’s talent” this year to Flavio Perez and Eric Serre, two of the founding members of Fées Spéciales, an animation studio based in Montpellier. Recognised for their civil and pedagogical commitment, les Fées Spéciales strive to create artisanal productions based on the use of open-source software, to make their production tools accessible to all.

PROJECTION OF THE FILM XUAN ZANG BY JIANQI HUO

The awards ceremony will be followed by the foreign premier of the film Xuan Zang by filmmaker Jianqi HUO, produced by China Film Co., Ltd. Following the quest of monk Xuanzang as he searches for sacred Buddhist scriptures under the Tang dynasty, Xuan Zang is a maiden voyage between China and India.

Interpreted by Huang Xiaoming (Ip man 2, le retour du grand maître, American Dreams in China), this film brings to the screen, for the first time, the true story of de Xuan Zang, an odyssey where truth can be stranger than fiction.
