In this “river movie” along the banks of the Mississippi, political, environmental and human rights issues are interwoven with the tales, myths and ghosts of these now extinct birds.

Jia Zhang-Ke returns to the genre with SO CLOSE TO MY LAND, the third and final installment in his trilogy
about different artistic disciplines in China, after Venice winners DONG (2006), and USELESS (2007).
