European titles flying high at the afmTHE INVISIBLE FIGHT by Rainer Sarnet (Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Greece / LevelK) (c) Homeless Bob Production Nine world sales companies are promoting and selling 20 new finished and unfinished films from Europe with the help of European Film Promotion’s Film Sales Support (FSS) at LA’s American Film Market (AFM), taking place from 31 October to 5 November. The FSS scheme provides financial help for the development of sophisticated campaigns that visually tease the interest of North American, Latin American and Asian buyers at the AFM. The support, covering a multitude of classic and, in particular, digital marketing measures includes various options for sales agents, for instance hiring digital marketing experts who will prepare long-term B2B strategies, pre- and post AFM which integrate social media tactics for the premiere of the films at this important North American event. This year’s overall support for the 20 films totals €34,000 and goes towards campaigns for yet unfinished animations, Into The Wonderwoods by Vincent Paronnaud (France / Urban Sales) and Tafiti - Across the Desert by Nina Wels (Germany / Sola Media), Gina by Ulrike Kofler (Austria / Picture Tree International), which is in post-production, The Invisible Fight by Rainer Sarnet (Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Greece / LevelK), Dovbush by Oles Sanin (Ukraine / Minerva Pictures), Commandante by Eduardo de Angelis (Italy, Belgium / True Colours), One Night with Adela by Hugo Ruiz (Spain / Latido Films) and Home Sweet Home - Where Evil Lives by Thomas Sieben (Germany / The Playmaker) amongst others. For a complete list of the supported films, please click HERE FSS for the individual campaigns was confirmed by German Films, Cinecittà, Estonian Film Institute, ICAA (Spain), Slovenian Film Centre and Unifrance. FSS is made possible thanks to the support of Creative Europe MEDIA of the European Union.
