Signes de Nuit  invites you to discover for the first time a selection of astounding documentaries. Some handle the most problematic and conflictual subjects, whereas others offer a new perception of our relation to the world by mixing experimental with reality.

This year, among suggested themes, you will find the Israelo-Palestinian conflict, the actual Russia as well as the Kazakhstan through the fantasies of a new capitalist world still in construction.

Terje Carlsson Israël / Palestine / Sweden * 2007 * 0:55:00   In this film Leila is chatting on MSN, discussing Jimi Hendrix with her mother and sharing her vision of a middle east of coexistence and peace.

 

The Taste of Koumiz (Le Goût du Koumiz)

Xavier Christiaens Belgium * 2003 * 0:55:00   An experimental documentary about nomad of Kirghizistan. X.Christiaens contemplates the steppes of central Asia whereas a voice-over speaks about soviet domination.

 

White She-Camel (La Chamelle Blanche)

Dante Albanesi (San Benedetto del Tronto, 1968). Laurea in DAMS Spettacolo a Bologna, con tesi su Peter Greenaway (110 e lode). Per la critica cinematografica, ha vinto i Premi Segnocinema 1994, Adelio Ferrero 1994 e Filippo Sacchi 1997. Ha scritto di cinema su quotidiani (“Il Resto del Carlino”), siti internet e riviste, tra i quali: “Cineforum”, “Cabiria”, “La linea dell’occhio”, “Segnocinema”, “reVision”, “Shortvillage”, “Cinemania”, “Fotogenia”, “CinemaSud”, “Proiezioni”, “AccaParlante”, “ilDocumentario.it”. Ha collaborato con il Premio Libero Bizzarri (documentari italiani e internazionali) e il FanoFilmFestival (cortometraggio internazionale). Nel 2002 ha pubblicato il libro Da Cabiria a Moulin Rouge! – Cento anni di musica per il cinema (Cineforum San Benedetto del Tronto). Organizzatore di corsi di cinema per scuole, enti e associazioni. Direttore Artistico delle edizioni 2003-2011 del festival del cinema breve CortoperScelta. Autore di corti di finzione e documentari, con partecipazioni a circa 110 festival italiani e internazionali e circa 30 premi, tra i quali: 42° Mostra del Cinema di Pesaro, FanoFilmFestival 2006, Sottodiciotto di Torino, Videoconcorso Pasinetti di Venezia). Docente di materie cinematografiche all’Ipsia di San Benedetto del Tronto – Indirizzo “Produzione Audiovisive”.
