FIPADOC

FIPADOC is an international documentary film festival, held annually in Biarritz, France.

Over six days, it brings members of the public and professionals together for screenings of a selection of outstanding documentary films. Hosting meet-and-greets and premiering new projects, FIPADOC is committed to promoting innovation, image appreciation, and new talent. Its flagship programme, Impact, supports the conception and distribution of films that aim to radically change the conversation on key contemporary issues, including the environment, human rights, and social justice.

Held annually in January, FIPADOC is the first event on the circuit of major international documentary festivals each year.

The festival kicked off the 6th edition this friday evening to a full house at the magnificent Theatre de "La Gare du Midi", the opening film was preceded by a 15 minute overview of the festival program and its jury members by Christine Camdessus (FIPADOC General Delegate) and Anne Georget (FIPADOC President), and Maider Arosteguy (Mayor of Biarritz) Onstage presentation of the films and jury members.

The opening film Bella Ciao - Per la Libertà produced by Andrea Romeo (a long time friend of filmfestivals.com with a strong background in festival and film distribution) was introduced by the director Giulia Giapponesi is a 90-minute documentary film about the roots and rise of the most popular revolutionary song in the world. From the hymn of the partisans to the fight song of the new generations around the world, hit of the most famous international artists and soundtrack of the Netflix series La Casa de Papel.
