Cultural diversity is one of the most valuable results of human existence. It is an inexhaustible source of innovation and development. Intercultural dialogue largely contributes to the preservation and advancement of cultural diversity and the peaceful coexistence of peoples. Art, the most impressive manifestation of culture, has always furthered mutual understanding and respect across borders. For this reason the International Delphic Council has initiated the international contest for documentary short films called DELPHIC ART MOVIE AWARD.

Show the Power of Art – Develop the Intercultural Dialogue!

What makes art fascinating?

Which artistic achievements have coined the culture of a country in the last 10 years?

What do national identity and tradition mean to contemporary art?

How can enthusiasm for art be conveyed to an uninvolved audience?

Answers to these questions are expected from the contest contributions of the DELPHIC ART MOVIE AWARD 2011.

The nominated films will be shown to the public at the ITB. The award ceremony will take place at the “Palais am Funkturm” during the final show of the ITB Berlin 2011 on March 13th.

user
Welcome to our blog for our films, but at the moment specifically for our latest film L'amour de Montparnasse.  It's our second major short film that we worked on together.  Toby as writer/director and myself as producer.  Our first film Alone about the Universe is 18 minutes and a sci-fi drama.  It was our first film that we sent off to festivals and at the time we were very new to the whole circuit so had no plan or strategy.  We picked up two international awards for best short and excel...

Run Granny Run!

Director: Nikolaus von Uthmann.
The most dramatic race since BEN HUR! Sweet Granny is walking to her favorite spot at a lake when she gets overtaken by Mrs Messala. The old ladies maneuver their wheeled walking-aides in a breathtaking, funny but violent snail-pace race. Black humour + whacky comedy underlined by subtle social commentary, as if Monty Pythons had teamed up with Mike Leigh. The film has already been shown at festivals all over the world, and has won the Gold Remi Award of the WorldFest Houston (category: Best Original Comedy Short), and the Audience Award of the Kino Knock Out Festival in Altkirch, France.

The 2010 BRCFF will kick off with a Red Carpet Opening Night Gala before the first program on Tuesday night and conclude with a Wrap Party after the last films on Friday night. Plus every other night we will be hosting cocktail hour before and between screenings at our Casting Couch Bar and Popcorn Stand.

Black Rock City has a population of 50,000 for one week in August when it hosts Burning Man. The festival will screen films Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night at the festival. Festival Filmmakers are welcome and encouraged to attend and camp with us! You need your own ticket and camping/survival gear for the event. For more info on Burning Man go to www.burningman.com.
