About IFFLA
The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is a nonprofit organization devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers, recognizing the leadership of entertainment industry performers and business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.
Each year the festival is held at the ArcLight Hollywood and features a rich mix of film programs designed to build and support the growing interest in the Indian entertainment industry. This includes programming that cultivates an audience for Indian films while supporting filmmakers of Indian descent in career development as they navigate the larger studio system in Hollywood. IFFLA's creative and business programs include the IFFLA Film Fund that helps emerging filmmakers realize their feature-length narrative and non-narrative film projects; the Industry Leadership Awards created to recognize the achievements of industry executives who have contributed considerably towards the entertainment and media industry in India; the One-on-One program where industry professionals from major and independent production and distribution companies are invited to participate in meetings with the IFFLA filmmakers; and the panel discussions with speakers from the film industry.

JAMAICA REGGAE FILM FESTIVAL, 17th-21st May 2012
The Jamaica Film Academy announces the Call for Entries in the 2012 Jamaica Reggae Film Festival, to be held 17th-21st May 2012 in Kingston, Jamaica.(Venue to be confirmed)
In keeping with the format initiated at the inaugural event in February 2008, the Festival will showcase films in which aspects of Jamaica's Reggae music culture are displayed, documented and memorialized in feature, documentary and short films, animation and music videos. In the five years since its inception, the Reggae Film Festival has included films made by Jamaicans, as well as global reggae researchers and fans from the Caribbean, UK, USA, Canada, Spain, Germany, Serbia, Italy, Japan, Iran, France and Ethiopia. The focus of many documentaries on the history of Jamaican music and music makers, ensures an archive of historical material on the genre that preserves the oral memories of a culture that has spread to and been honored by the world.
In 2012, in recognition of the 50th year of Jamaica's independence, the Jamaica Reggae Film Festival will be presented internationally in cities of the Jamaican Diaspora, with selected screenings of The Best of the Reggae Film Festival in Toronto, London, Birmingham and New York.
In keeping with the objective of the Jamaica Film Academy to increase and improve the output of Jamaican film making, the annual Make A Film In 24 Hours competition has inspired and produced new Jamaican film making talent, while the Festival has discovered a surprising wealth of Jamaican talent in digital animation. The acknowledged expertise and innovation of Jamaican music video makers exposing the talents of Jamaica's powerful musical artists, provides another area highlighted by the Reggae Film Festival.
Annual Awards are presented in several categories and and the international interest in the unique music and culture of Jamaica. has given prize-winning films further international awards and distribution. The Festival's identification of the genre of 'reggae films' creates a digital archive of films available for research into a variety of aspects of the Jamaican culture that emerged from the Rastafari movement and spread with the music of reggae legend Bob Marley.
Oscar winning documentarian Errol Morris has had more than his share of interesting interview subjects in his 30 year plus career, but perhaps none is quite as gonzo as the one he captures in his new film TABLOID, which opens in limited release in North America this week (and is available on most VOD platforms). The film focuses on the bizarre-but-true story of Joyce McKinney, a former Miss Wyoming beauty queen who became a notorious tabloid sensation in the 1970s when she snatched her...

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The West Virginia FIlmmakers Festival is the original Film Festival dedicated to films by and for West Virginia. The First Festival was held in the spring of 2001 showcasing some of West Virginia's best filmmakers at the Landmark Studio for the Arts in Historic Sutton, West Virgina. In 2010 The West Virginia Filmmaker's Guild took over production of the festival.
The WVFF focuses on creating a communal atmosphere between the makers, students, and audiences of their films. We make our filmmakers our top priority by encouraging feedback, networking and workshops among the filmmakers. Filmmakers should leave our weekend with a myriad of new friends and collaborators

Savvy filmgoers at the Sundance Film Festival know that the roster of documentaries on tap are generally of more consistent quality and interest than their narrative cousins. For that reason, and the increased boxoffice potential of reality-based films at the theatrical box office, attention is being paid to the American films competing for Best Documentary honors at the event. They include:
