The film stars Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson. At the press conference, the actress/director of the movie Jodie Foster, writer kyle killen, and producer Keith Redmon were present. Since Jodie Foster can speak fluent French, she was kind enough to do the press conference in both French and English. She talked about the inspiration of the movie, the makin...

Cary Grant: Now That's A Movie Star

user
You can have your Tom Cruises, your Ashton Kutchers, your Robert Pattinsons....as far as I am concerned, the definition of a REAL movie star is Cary Grant. Evidently the Brooklyn Academy of Music agrees with me, because they are in the midst of their second Grant retrospective through the end of July. If one has never seen the great man on the big screen.....pounce. After last year’s successful series, BAMcinématek honors the leading man whose repertoire is mpressive and esse...

Big Fan Movie Directorial debut from Robert Siegel, screenwriter of The Wrestler

Director: Robert Siegal.
Paul (Patton Oswalt), a 35-year-old parking garage attendant from Staten Island, is the self-described "world's biggest New York Giants fan." He spends his off hours calling in to local sports radio station 760 The Zone, where he rants in support of his beloved team, often against his mysterious on-air rival, Eagles fan Philadelphia Phil (Michael Rapaport). His family berates him for doing nothing with his life, but they don't understand the depth of his love of the Giants. One night, Paul and his best friend Sal (Kevin Corrigan) spot a Giants star linebacker (Jonathan Hamm) and decide to approach him—but things do not go as planned. The fallout of this chance encounter brings Paul's world crashing down around him as his family, the team, the media and the authorities engage in a tug of war over Paul, testing his allegiances and calling into question everything he believes in. Following up his first filmed screenplay (The Wrestler), writer/director Robert Siegel once again demonstrates a unique and potent vision of the human experience, in all of it its harsh truths and hopeful humanity.

Thursday, October 18-------Today we have lost one of the best, and a personal favorite of mine. She spent her last years in rural England, suffering from Parkinson's  Disease. Although nominated six times for the Academy Award for taboo-shattering roles in the 1950s and 1960s, Ke...
