Cairo Time's director Ruba Nadda, producer Daniel Iron and lead actress Patricia Clarkson arrived in Aruba in the midst of the first AIFF to the site of masked Aruban dancers and the bottoms up of Moet Champagne glasses. Not a bad night entrance to this tropical island and no doubt a stark contrast to the location where there film is entirely set, in Cairo Egypt.
When I asked Patricia what it was like to film in Cairo, she smiled and shook her head before emphasizing how incredibly welcoming and nice the Egyptians were and how it was a truly fantastic experience. They shot the entire film in Cairo and from what what I gather from this happy and satisfied team, it was a smooth and delightful experience. Patricia spoke of her admiration for this film and how different and refreshing it was to work on.
Judging by the positive acclaim of this romantic Cairo comedy, it would seem safe to surmize that Cairo Time definitely fit nicely into Aruba Time.
