On Sunday July 12th, Angelenos celebrated the eighth annual official Bastille Day LA Festival at the beautiful in Elysian Park in the heart of Los Angeles, (next to Dodgers Stadium). French gastronomic delicacies, in the form of crepes, and french breads; along with eclectic live entertainment were featured. Local bands, singers, street performers, belly dancers, and raffles for a trip to Tahiti, and Paris were available. Revelers enjoyed French food and wine, Chinese beer, and Morrocan fashion in the colorfully decorated tent city that had been erected.
The festival takes place under the auspices of the Consulate of France in Los Angeles.
Plenty of free parking was available, but beware after 6pm the gendarmes are gleefully ticketing cars. We can all say Merci for a joyful but expensive experience if your car was in the wrong spot.
