This past April I covered the Philadelphia Film Festival(Cinefest09) as Press.

I'm creating the possibility of covering Film Festival's around the world, blogging, interviewing and reviewing!

Here's a sampling of pre-Festival Coverage:

Last week, held at Patou Restaurant, I attended Curators on Tour,
a lively and informative conversation with the Curators of the Festival
regarding How, Why and What films are in store for the Festival this
year.
To my surprise, they have added a series entitled Fade to Black, a cross section of films geared toward African Americans, by Black Filmmakers, curated by Reelblack's, Mike D.
Now, you may recall, last year I interviewed both curator, Scott Johnston
and then non-curator, Mike D, on this very idea. And inquired as to why
there was only one African American film offered during the festival.
Mike D's response "I
don't really have anything negative to say, I think there is a definite
need for an African-American Film Festival in this city and I wouldn't
expect PFF, which has its own niche to take responsibility for filling
the void."

I
ever so cordially brought this focus into the discussion at Patou and
both men responded with grace and acknowledgment. Truly, I'm happy to
see this addition to the PFF/Cinefest...
