Julio Iglesias receives the Ischia Music Legend Award

On Sunday July 8, Julio Iglesias will receive the Music Legend Award for "most popular Latin-American artist of all times." Presenting the award at the Negombo in Ischia will be great international producer David Foster, together with Clotilde Courau, princess of Savoy and godmother of the fifth Global Film & Music Fest which begins on July 9 at the Regina Isabella Hotel in Lacco Ameno. Announcing the award to Iglesias was Tony Renis, co-chairman of the festival together with Oscar winning director Paul Haggis. The award to the popular Spanish singer kicks off a celebration that will transform the “green island” into a great international stage from July 9 to 15, with the participation of numerous stars from every angle of the globe and especially Hollywood. The event is dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti, who will take part from his home in Pesaro on the evening of July 10, during the awarding of prizes to Andrea Bocelli and David Foster in Piazza delle Alghe in Ischia Ponte.

Among the other important music stars who will arrive in Ischia are Laura Pausini, who is already gearing up her numerous Italian fan clubs, and Sheryl Crow, one of America’s most famous singers, who will arrive in the gulf of Naples directly from 'Live Earth' in London the mega-world concert inspired by Al Gore dedicated to the safeguarding of the planet.
On July 12 it will be the turn of Argentine composer and two-time Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla with his band the Bajafondo Tango Club, who will give a special concert in the Gardens of Poseidon, promoted by Massimo
Bottiglieri and the Venice Casino. On July 15 Luis Bacalov will be honored by the island of Procida 15 years after the filming of The Postman, for which he won an Oscar. British director Michael Radford will also be on hand to remember Massimo Troisi and the places that he loved.
