Dynamic company, ITN Distribution Inc. (ITN) has announced that they have acquired worldwide sales rights to Johnny 316, an impossible love story starring Vincent Gallo (Buffalo 66, The Brown Bunny) and stunning actress and model Nina Brosh. ITN President Stuart Alson will act as exclusive agent for the feature film and plans to generate heavy sales out of Riviera F11 at the 2007 Marche DuFilm/Cannes.
Other films on the ITN roster include, That’s the Way of the World starring Harvey Keitel; Valley of Angels starring Danny Trejo; The Last Request starring Danny Aiello, Vinny Pastore and T.R. Knight; City Teacher starring Frank Vincent and controversial rapper, composer and actor Chuck D. Gallo, a controversial personality in the film industry and especially at the Cannes Film Festival does not play a melodramatic or self-indulgent character.
A modernized version of Oscar Wilde’s ‘Salome,” Johnny 316, unfurls in the boulevards of Hollywood, California with Gallo playing a penniless street preacher who spends his days giving out pamphlets and spreading the word of God. One day, he meets Sarah, played by Nina Brosh, a beautiful bereft hairdresser who lost her job. For Sarah, it is love at first sight. She follows the preacher home and tries to seduce him. Despite his deep attraction to her, he pushes her away. Oblivious to his rejection, Sarah continues to pursue the preacher, convinced that she can win him over. Poetic and violent, this impossible love story explores the themes of spirituality, intimacy and loss, set against the backdrop of the harsh unforgiving reality of the streets.
The film which was completed in 2006 has an impressive supporting cast including Seymour Cassell and Louise Fletcher and was written, produced and directed by Moroccan native Erick Ifergan who owns Serial Dreamer Productions. Erick is one of the most influential and recognized film, music video and commercial directors in the industry and has received numerous international awards and recognition for his work throughout the years.
Additionally, he also directed international beauty campaigns for Mila Jovovich, Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz among others. Johnny 316 is his first independent feature film.
“I am thrilled to be adding Johnny 316 to our slate of ITN features, said Stuart Alson. The acting is impressive and honest and it is beautifully directed by Ifergan. One of our major goals is to acquire high-concept arthouse films. There is no disputing Vincent Gallo’s talent as an actor and director and I believe he got a raw deal at Cannes in 2003. The Brown Bunny found a multi-territory release through Sony and I look forward to presenting our sales strategy and selling this film.”
